Due Diligence Before Legalizing Slots/Casinos

Well, I have had my fill of being attacked for having a position on an issue that I care about.

The nasty comments that some people make (usually anonymously) on the internet are not contributing to the betterment of society.

It has been stated recently that I own a convenience store and that is why I am against casinos. Wrong.
Posters have described me as a moonbat, conservative, scold, someone who overly uses statistics, educated (framed as if it were a curse), religious zealot and other comments.

Here are my words why I am opposed to legalizing class III predatory gambling, slots/casinos.

Those of us in the Middleboro region are well familiar with the bashing you're taking now. I wish I had more comforting words for you, but all I can say is that, we're still here, and they're not.

In May of 2007 they tried to tell me a casino was inevitable . Its' March of 2010 and I still don't live near a casino.

They can't argue on facts so they bash the messenger who brings truth.

It all just makes you fight harder to keep this rabid dog of an industry out of our State - and out of our lives.

Great job, Kathleen. It's small consolation, but remember, they only come after you if you're making a difference.

Yeah - what Gladys said.

My advice - stay away from the comments. They're unconstructive and, as you noted, are often used as a platform for anonymous cowards that can't face you directly.

You're doing the right thing and running an honest campaign.

Kathleen - just read the article in the Globe about you. I don't live anywhere near the proposed casino sites but believe this is so wrong for society. I think the work you are doing is so wonderful and selfless for the good of our community. You are my heroine. Don't let anyone weaken your resolve. There are many of us who admire what you are doing.
